Language:  Exclamatory/Imperative

 -We will review, identify, and write each kind of sentence.

Exclamatory sentence: shows strong feeling, ends with an exclamation mark (!). Imperative sentence: (bossy) makes a command, ends with a period (.).

Test:  Thursday (students should be able to identify/write each kind of sentence).

 

Math:  Place Value

-We will continue to practice identifying and representing numbers to 1,000:  using models, word form, standard form, expanded form, and knowing the value of a group of tens. Ex:  What is the value of 14 tens? 140; How many tens make 300? 30. We will also review odd/even numbers, and equations:  4+2=5+1, 1+9=10+0 (be able to fill in blanks). Please help your child practice by making sure that he/she does the homework sheet each night. Remember to return homework every day. Students will receive a "Gotcha" on Friday for having their homework every day of the week. Test:  Thursday

 

Spelling:   Week 5 (consonant digraphs:  sh, ch, tch, th, wh)
