My name is Kimberly Hurst, and I teach 2nd grade at Coosada Elementary School. I am an only child, and a product of the Elmore County School System. I graduated from Stanhope Elmore High School, and then received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Auburn University at Montgomery. I received my Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Troy State University in Montgomery. I received my Education Specialist Degree in Elementary Mathematics from Auburn University at Montgomery. This is my 23rd year in the classroom; all of which have been in 2nd Grade. Although this is strictly my opinion, 2nd grade is the absolute best! I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 22 years, and have two wonderful, fabulous, loving teenagers. My son, who is an Eagle Scout, will be a Sophomore at Troy University this year. Go Trojans! My smart, beautiful, techie daughter is a Senior in high school. My mom and step-dad are pretty awesome, too! In addition to my family, I also live with 3 dogs- Leia the German Shepherd and two Chihuahuas- Lucy Ricardo and Guiseppi Armondo. We also have a newly acquired cat found on the side of the road named Oliver Gaige Buttons. I enjoy reading, boating, camping, fishing, beaching, and spending time with my family. I am a firm believer in faith and family, and in open communication between parents/guardians and the teacher. I look forward to teaching and learning with your child, and I know we will have a year filled with exploration and discovery!
