I taught at Robinson Springs for 11 years. 2017-2018 will be my 22nd year in a 2nd grade classroom and my eleventh year at Coosada Elementary.

My name is Kimberly Hurst, and I am privileged to teach 2nd grade at Coosada Elementary School. I am an only child, and a product of the Elmore County School System. I graduated from Stanhope Elmore High School, and then received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Auburn University at Montgomery. I received my Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Troy State University in Montgomery. This is my 22nd year in the classroom; all of which have been in 2nd Grade. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 21 years, and have two wonderful, fabulous, loving teenagers! My son, who is an Eagle Scout, will start college at Troy University this year. My smart, beautiful daughter is a Junior in high school. My mom and step-dad are pretty awesome, too! In addition to my family, I also live with 4 dogs- Leia the German Shepherd, Tanner the Pyrenees, and two Chihuahuas- Lucy Ricardo and Guiseppi Armondo. I enjoy reading, boating, camping, fishing, and spending time with my family. I am a firm believer in faith and family, and in open communication between parents/guardians and the teacher. I look forward to teaching and learning with your child, and I know we will have a year filled with exploration and discovery!
