Car Rider Pick-Up Line

This is Richard Dennis, Superintendent of Elmore County Public Schools.

The safety and security of the over 925 students and 110 faculty and staff at Coosada Elementary School is a top priority. For safety reasons, vehicles are not allowed on campus before 2 p.m. The car pick-up process begins at 2:30 and is clear by 2:50 – only 20 minutes later. However, many vehicles are arriving as much as 2 hours prior to the start of the car pick-up process which causes traffic to back up on public roads AND private property.

On the advice of the police department and city officials, we ask that those persons that pick-up students at CES to avoid excessively early arrival times (before 2 p.m.), and to respect private property adjacent to and in the surrounding neighborhoods.

Given that the student pick-up line process only takes 20 minutes and campus security is a priority, we ask for your cooperation in this matter. Elmore County will continue to work with local municipalities to improve the safety and traffic around CES.

Thank you.

Richard Dennis
